Early Completion of the Project
Dear Reader, the project “ByGreen – Greening Belarus” started in October 2020, shortly after the presidential election in Belarus, the subsequent events and during the Covid-19 pandemic. Not perfect conditions …
A sustainable & bilateral platform for environmental technologies
Green, healthy and sustainable
circular economy for Belarus
Establishing international cooperation between Belarus and German industry
Knowledge transfer at all levels of education that surpasses the state of the art
With a view to establishing a sustainable circular economy in Belarus, the project aims to separate the collection and treatment of biogenic residues and biowaste. The core element is the development of an innovative composting plant, which is to be conceptually integrated into the Belarusian industrial landscape. Innovative concepts for the reduction of microplastics, stabilisation of actinomycetes, Terra Preta and a continuous composting process are to be combined. In order to reduce greenhouse gases, the prior fermentation in a biogas plant will also be taken into account. This approach is to be accompanied by a comprehensive educational programme at the industrial, municipal/administrative level in order to catch up with the current state of green and sustainable technology in Germany in the field of circular economy and related fields of action.

The “Greening Belarus” interest group is the basis of the project. About 55 interested parties from industry and research have already joined the community of interest in both countries. Joining is free of charge and is intended to facilitate a non-binding exchange on the future market “bioeconomy” with a focus on composting and biogas, especially in Belarus. In principle, however, German products, ideas and visions are the topic of discussion, so that German actors who are not aiming for future product sales in Belarus can also benefit from participation. As a non-profit actor, TU Dresden takes up the research interests of the community, processes them and brings together potential partners.
